The article explores new methodological approaches in teaching the article system in English. The limitations of traditional grammar-translation and rule-based teaching are highlighted and the advantages of modern, communicative and context-based methods are highlighted. It discusses how methods such as inductive learning, task-based learning and interactive activities affect students' correct use of articles in real-world communication. In conclusion, it is stated that contextual and communicative approaches are more effective for functional mastery of the article and increase both grammatical accuracy and fluency of the student.
