Abstract

Tourism discourse spans tightly knit semantic fields—notably Hotel Accommodation, Transportation, Culinary Tourism, and Ecotourism—that bundle recurring concepts, collocations, roles, and scripts. Drawing on field theory and frame semantics, this paper analyzes those fields and proposes a thematic, cross-referenced dictionary architecture for tourism English that privileges task-based senses, collocational patterns, roles, and regulatory labels. The design supports learners and practitioners by aligning lexical entries with work processes and genres common to hospitality and travel.
