THE SEMANTIC AND FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LOCATIVE-TEMPORAL CASE IN UZBEK AND ITS SYNTACTIC EQUIVALENTS IN ENGLISH

This article explores the semantic and functional features of the locative-temporal case in the Uzbek language, focusing on its role in expressing place and time relationships within sentences. The study compares the morphological expression of this case in Uzbek with its syntactic counterparts in English, where prepositional phrases (e.g., in, on, at) are typically used. The analysis reveals significant structural and typological differences between the agglutinative system of Uzbek and the analytic tendencies of English. Furthermore, the research identifies contexts in which the Uzbek locative-temporal case conveys subtle pragmatic nuances that are often lost in direct English translation.
