Abstract

This article explores the role of Task-Based Learning (TBL) in developing speaking competence in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. Speaking is considered one of the most challenging language skills for EFL learners, as it requires not only grammatical knowledge but also confidence, fluency, and the ability to communicate meaning effectively. Traditional teacher-centered methods often limit students’ opportunities to practice real-life communication. In contrast, Task-Based Learning focuses on meaningful tasks that encourage learners to use language actively and purposefully.
