Abstract

Feedback plays a central role in student assessment by guiding learning, shaping motivation, and supporting cognitive development [1]. Drawing on Cognitive and Conceptual Metaphor Theory, this study examines how feedback is conceptualized through metaphorical mappings such as guidance, correction, and nourishment [2]. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining questionnaire data and semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that formative feedback framed through constructive metaphors is associated with higher engagement and improved academic performance [3].
